Madina Olomi (Saudi Arabia & Afghanistan) 

"I was a board member of UCLA’S United Afghan Club and a Leadership Council Member of Peer Health Exchange- a non-profit organization aimed at providing health education for Los Angeles ninth graders in underserved communities. I decided to join the Founding Mothers of ΕΑΣ at the end of my first year at UCLA and became the Sorority’s first Vice President. Joining the sisterhood helped me overcome my insecurity of not being Arab by birthright. The love and acceptance I received from my sisters validated my association with the Arab culture and one of the places I consider to be my home. Deciding to become a part of this remarkable organization was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Not only have I gained important knowledge and skills to aid in my professional development, I also created life-long bonds with incredible women that I am fortunate to call my sisters. In the future I plan on working in educational and human rights development. I was accepted into the Teach For America corps and have high hopes of extending education and equality worldwide. As a member of the ΕΑΣ National Board, I plan on spreading the Sorority’s legacy and opening chapters nationwide. I can’t wait to see our sisterhood grow and inspire women all over the country (and hopefully the world) to stand up for what they believe in and work together towards building a better future for us all. Change is possible, and we are an organization of women who are empowering ourselves to MAKE A CHANGE!"
