My name is Eeraj Junaid, I am a sophomore at UNLV. I am majoring in political science but will soon be taking medical courses in the near future to fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor. I know, poli-sci and pre-med? This girl is absolutely insane and trust me, I agree with you. Turns out I have a death wish. Anyhow, my ethnic background is Pakistani. I was born in Pakistan and moved to the United States when I was just eight months old so I’ve lived here pretty much my whole life. Of course, being Pakistani does not make me “Arab” I’m a southeastern asian for crying out loud. But I still feel as though Epsilon Alpha Sigma is a wonderful place for me to not only make personal connections that will follow me for the rest of my life, but a place I can learn abundantly from. The Arab world is so closely linked with the Southeast Asian culture in today’s media, but only we know how truly different they are. I think this is where the beauty is. Although we come from different cultures, traditions, and perhaps even religions there is so much we have in common. I, like you, am proud of my background but also greatly interested in learning about others. I feel as though we share so much as people in terms of ethics and morality despite our differences. This is why I would love to be a part of Epsilon Alpha Sigma, because I feel as though it honors pride in our similarities but also celebrates our differences as people. I would love to be a founding sister for an organization that is utilizing “sisterhood” to bring together such an eclectic group of girls through our “one” similarity-our connection with the Arab association. Some of my closest friends are of Arab descent and I can honestly say that they are individuals I love and honor like sisters. It would be a blessing to be able to extend that sort of bond to other girls. If given the chance I can promise you that I will take on the role of a founding sister with great honor and excellence. I love that you have founded an organization that includes a group of people who have been so misread in today’s society and given them a platform to truly be themselves and thrive.

My name is Arooba Khalique and I am a sophomore at UNLV studying Film.. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner due to prior commitments and did not have the time. I believe that I should be a founding sister at the UNLV colony because I have had experience in leadership positions through my years spent in student council amongst other organizations. I would love to help create conversation, engagement, exploring and learning for others. Also I am immensely interested in understanding and sharing social, cultural, literary, and art experiences of the region- and sharing our own cultural heritages. I would love to be involved in such a union and would prioritize my time according to this chapter. I genuinely would love to be a part of this unique and wonderful organization. I adore what Epsilon Alpha Sigma stands for and appreciate the fact that it is all about empowerment and having a strong representation of the Arab community. The prestige that surrounds this sorority is wonderful and I would be honored to be a part of it.It is exciting to know that this sisterhood is expanding and I believe it will benefit the union tremendously, congratulations for that. All in all, I am extremely fond of this organization and would be delighted if I were given the opportunity to join. Thanks so much.
